Today I'm joining Susan at Between Naps on the Porch for the weekly Tablescape Thursday. There are so many beautiful tablescapes there for everyone to enjoy.
Valentine's day is such a hectic occasion around our house considering I'm a florist and well, it is a busy week for me, but I do like to make it special in some way for us so we usually grill steaks and stay home. I like to make the dinner and table special so I pull out different linens and dishes to coordinate with the holiday. I cut holly with berries from our yard to use as a simple floral arrangement.

I started out with ivory, cotton placemats I have had for quite some time and then went on a scavenger hunt through my dishes and accessories to adorn my Valentine's table. I added white dishes, clear glassware, red cotton napkins and candles.
The table was simple, but so pretty and my husband loved it. He thought it was so nice that I wanted to make it special for us. This is a votive candle holder he gave me for Valentine's this year. It's so pretty.
Our menu was grilled steaks, baked potatoes, salad and strawberry shortcake.
We had such a nice dinner and a Happy Valentine's Day.

Picking the berries from your yard is such a nice touch. Thank you for including your menu, and telling your "story" in this tablescape. You sound like you are in love! :-)

Gorgeous table, Susan! And the menu sounds delicious!
Susan! It was so nice of you to drop by my table today and leave such a sweet comment. I'm very pleased to meet you and would love to see your tablescape with the David Winter cottages -- they just seemed perfect for St. Patrick's (even though he's from England-- close enough!) Hope to see you around! And Happy St. Patrick's day!
Your table is so pretty, Susan. I love the heart votive candle holder. Thaks for coming by. I bought the lantern from Hobby Lobby about 2 years ago. Glad you like it....Christine
I hadn't realized you were a florist! I'm amazed that you found time to create such a beautiful table during such a hectic time. I love the simplicity of it. The heart votive holder added a very special touch.
Hope your weekend goes well.

I cannot wait to see your Ivy!!!! I saw a service for 8 and serving pieces for around $385, a really good deal but not in my budget. It is SO much prettier than I would have ever thought. I ended up getting the 9 1/2 luncheon plates because I can use my Italian countryside as chargers, and I really wanted them for breakfast and lunch. I am trying to get some berry bowls because the girls like to eat cereal in berry bowls. I ended up with one dinner plate and two B&B plates that I might add to later. I also got 4 cups and saucers. I LOVE it. love it:-)
THanks for visiting my site and your sweet comments on my cake and cupcakes! Love your Valentines table!
